Arena Location: Third Street, Reclamation Area, Cebu City. Date of visit: November 4, 2005 Prices: •Cover charge: Men P200, Ladies P500 (they don't want you to drag along your gf or barfine from another club.) •SMB: P90 •Soft drink: P66 •Ladies Drink: Juice P240, Tequila P450. You also have to initially buy one drink for the mamasan, at same price as the drink you are buying for the girl (P240 or P450.) •Barfine: GRO's P4000, Dancers P6000 (!!!!!!) •VIP Rooms: P1500, consumable. Dancer / GRO / staff comments: There's a whole lotta of girls working here....probably at least 75? Mixture of 7's, 8's, 9's...a few 10's. Customers: Mostly high-rolling Asians (Korens and Japanese), the rest Pinoys and a few white customers. The parking lot had a big tour bus, the Japanese occupants of which were inside barfining girls at a furious clip. Music: Loud. Layout / condition of club: Cavernous, high-ceilinged central clubroom with large stage and catwalk surrounded by plush black leatherette couches. There's a light show during the continuous dance performances and a big, loud sound system. Second floor has a girl selection area and VIP rooms. Sleaze & fun factor: Dance performances are fun but squeaky clean... this place is obviously a cash cow and operators don't want to get shut down. Presumably anything goes in the VIP rooms. Summary: The biggest, flashiest, most pretentious and expensive club in greater Cebu. And did I mention that you should probably bring enough money to support a Filipino village for a year? Amazingly, two of us spent two hours here for a total of P132....they charged us for the Sprites and apparently forgot to add the cover charge. November 2006 review: "In July, 2006 me and my friend were in Cebu for about 4 days. I first night went to the Arena. It is very large and upscale ...many girls, maybe 50 ,or 80 , or more. many lookers . and many all stars. we had to pay for two drinks upon entry; one for the momasan. A drink would allow you to talk to a girl for and hour.We had no problem ...the girls were great fun , they told us to forget buying them anymore drinks. They said the typical customer were up-tight Asians. I think the total to take a girl out wasp 5000P.We were half in the bag so we paid.It was worth it...great time the rest of the night and great in bed." |

Club Moritz Location: Inside St. Moritz Hotel, on Ocelo Street (near corner of Gorordo Avenue / Archbishop Reyes Ave.) Date of visit: September 23, 2005 Prices: •Cover charge: none •SMB: P50 •Soft drink: P50 •Ladies Drink: P175 •Barfine: P650 to bar; then "extra P2000 to P5000 to da girl" (verbatim quote from GRO's!) Dancer / GRO / staff comments: 8-10 dancers, friendly, only one beauty. Music: Older lite rock ("foreigner-friendly" music.) Layout / condition of club: Nice club, large central stage with hardwood trim, comfortable booths padded seats. Sleaze & fun factor: OK. Summary: OK, often-overlooked foreigner-friendly club. November 2006 review: "When we came back to Cebu three days later, we stayed at the hotel Moritz. good place, with a go go bar next door. I liked the hotel and liked the bar. We went to the bar late after dinner. There were only 4 girls there, all very cute {maybe 6-7]. A lot of fun and I think the total cost was 1500P., I whole combination was not bad." |

Dollhouse Location: Cebu South Road, Pardo, Cebu City. "Please note there is now no sign telling you the name of the club at all, so for people going by they will miss it entirely." Date of visit: October 2, 2005 Prices: •Cover charge: none •SMB: P60 •Soft drink: P60 •Ladies Drink: Single P160, double P300 •Barfine: P2500 •VIP Room: P300, non-consumable. Dancer / GRO / staff comments: They had 5 girls, single mom types, one with really good English but quite a bit chubby. Music: Layout / condition of club: Second-floor, stairs to enter. Sleaze & fun factor: Summary: Anyway some girls were ok looking but no skinny minny's Supposedly they have 10 girls on the weekends, Wow! All in all it's ok for 1 drink but the girls dances are really lackluster, perhaps they are more motivated on the weekends? |

Infinity KTV Location: Archbishop Reyes Avenue, across the street from Ayala Mall, Cebu City. Date of visit: June 6, 2006 Prices: •Cover charge: None •SMB: unknown. •Soft drinks: unknown. •Mixed drinks: Bayley's P100, Vodka P65-75. •LD: P360 I believe. •Barfine: unknown. •VIP Room: P1500 consumable minimum charge for a private room with decent KTV equipment. Dancer / GRO / staff comments: The girl was fun and lively, the mamasan was patient and accomodating and fairly fun, even sang a song with us. Music: Didn't seem loud in the public area. Layout / condition of club: Seemed clean, were about 25 girls seated when we arrived at 10pm. Big screen in the background running some KTV songs. Private room was clean and comfortable. Everything seemed in quite good condition, with the big song book being the only element feeling "used" =b Sleaze & fun factor: not sure if there are dancers, didn't seem like it. Summary: Although P1500 minimum charge seems high compared to what I have read on the bars, it actually provided exactly what I was looking for that evening in an atmosphere that felt clean (important to me) and "professional." |

Jaguar KTV Location: Just off Old Care Road, Banilad, Cebu City. Date of visit: October 28, 2005 Prices: •Cover charge: P200 •SMB: P80 •Soft drink: P80 •Ladies Drink: GRO P240, dancer P300. You also have to initially buy one drink for the mamasan, at same price as the drink you are buying for the girl (P240 or P300.) •Barfine: GROs P4000, dancers P5000 (!!!!!!!) •VIP Room: P1500, consumable. Ladies drinks additional. The club encourages patrons to buy a bottle of hard liquor, which the club then stores in one of the many large glass display cabinets. The "consumable" part of the room charge is thus for mixers and soft drinks. Dancer / GRO / staff comments: The prettiest girls of any club in greater Cebu, and lots of 'em (at least 50.) A regular visitor reports that the "10s" disappear shortly after the club opens at 8:30pm. Music: Pop music, loud but not eardrum-piercing like many venues. Layout / condition of club: Slightly above street-level, steps or a ramp to enter. This is a classy place. Fishbowl area upon entry with about 50 chairs full of beautiful girls. Large central entertainment area with big, comfortable leatherette couches, a well-lit stage with catwalk, and stuffed artificial tigers (note to management: the jaguar is actually a different animal than a tiger.) Many VIP rooms, and a second floor full of....? Sleaze & fun factor: The dancers actually dance. About 1/3 showed their breasts and /or pussy. Presumably, for the right price, all is available in the VIP rooms. Summary: If money is no object, this is the place to spend your every waking moment in Cebu. *A different opinion: "Cost is too high there. It is mainly tailored to Japanese and Korean clients. They have an entrance fee and a two drink minimum to buy for the girls. The girls, many of them anyway, are very pretty (or was when I was there last, a number of months ago). In my opinion ... still not worth it." |
