These clubs are located near Fuente, a.k.a. Fuente Osmeña or Osmeña Circle, midtown Cebu City. The area around this large traffic circle is the commercial and social hub of midtown Cebu. All these venues are generally considered "foreigner-friendly."

Cobra BarLocation: F. Ramos Street, Cebu City (previously located in Victoria Hotel on Manalilli Street.) Date of visit: September 23, 2005 Prices: •Cover charge: none •San Miguel Beer: P60 •Soft drink: P60 •Ladies Drink: P150 •Barfine: P2000 (P1000 to bar, P1000 to girl.) Dancer / GRO / staff comments: Friendly & attractive. Several buxom/chubby dancers. Mamasan aggressively pushes ladies drinks. Music: Older lite rock ("foreigner-friendly" music.) Layout / condition of club: 2nd floor, stairs to enter. Clean, soft lighting, comfortable couches. Sleaze & fun factor: Friendly, GRO's snuggly. Summary: Foreigner-friendly club. |
 Club FH (formerly Firehouse) Location: Just off Osmeña Boulevard near Visayas Community Hospital, Cebu City Date of visit: September 30, 2005 Prices: •Cover charge: none •San Miguel Beer: P30 Happy hour, otherwise P60 •Soft drink: P60 •Ladies Drink: P195 •Barfine: P1900 for dancers, P650 for GRO's, bar portion only. Need to buy two ladies drinks in addition to paying barfine! Additional P1500+ to girl. Dancer / GRO / staff comments: Girls immediately approach for ladies drinks, mamasan / waitresses pushy about ladies drinks re-fills after 10 minutes. Dancers wear matching bikinis, GRO's wear street clothes. Music: OK Layout / condition of club: Just above street-level, about four steps or ramp to enter (wheelchair-accessible.) Clean, offers both seats at bar and comfortable couches. Large stage with firepole. Sleaze & fun factor: All dancers fully clothed. Summary: OK. Staff reportedly very dissatisfied with new owner and supposedly happy to arrange sneak-outs. •November 2005 opinion: "Too few girls and don't like the atmosphere/layout." |

ThunderdomeLocation: F. Ramos Street, Cebu City. •Cover charge: None •San Miguel Beer: P73.20 (??) •Soft drink: P60 •Ladies Drink: P300 •Barfine: P4000 •April 2006 opinion: "Far too expensive!" •August 2006 review: "Thunderdome is the Korean format: similar to the KTV format but does not necessarily include Karaoke and VIP rooms. I have noticed that these type venues often feature two girls dancing at a time. There is parking at the front and guard at the door. The venue is medium-sized and systematically set out. There is a dance stage which is very well lit. One of the brightest you could ask for. I speculated that the bright lights are to make the girls skin look lighter. This would not work with many of the girls found in the bars as it would show up all the blemishes and stretch marks. I assume the girls at Thunderdome are picked for being free such blemishes and not having a baby. They are most very attractive ladies I must say. Two girls will dance at once to two numbers. Most will remove their tops for the final song. The girls make almost no eye contact with the customers and have that aloofness that I have often observed in bars that cater mainly for other Asians. Two the left are rows of chairs with the remaining girls sit and wait their turn to dance. They also ignore customers and keep to themselves. I ordered a SM lite and was charged the odd amount of P73.20. My friend had a coke and was charged around P60. The bar staff stand against the back wall scanning the tables for anyone that needs service. A mamasan will eventually talk to you and ask if you want the company of one of the beautiful girls. The prices. A ladies drink is P300. Those a saw were in very small glasses. A barfine is 4000 pesos. I believe this venue caters predominantly for Koreans and while they are not going to reject your money this is not a place I would recommend for Westerners. Nothing bad is going to happen but I suspect not much good either. I would not be surprised if many of the girls would decline to go with Westerners as this is often the case. These places develop a culture of their own and the girls prefer Asians. I doubt if many of them would be much fun anyway. It is a visually pleasing venue to visit. If you like to watch beautiful girls dancing and look at lovely tits then there is no reason not to visit. If you are looking for a companion to take home then suggest you look elsewhere. On the back wall there is a relief featuring pictures of some other venues around the city. I guessed the they all shared a single owner and another bar owner confirmed this later that night. I forget the name of the owner but it was a Chinese name like Lim. Apparently he is totally untouchable. The other bars he owns include Volvo (next door), Infinity, Gold Finger and Love City . He has some other places also and according to the bar owner I spoke to later that night he also has an interest in Arena." |
